Water Shrews is a free music improvisational band. Originating as a duo featuring Emmet Martin on electronics, clarinet, tapes, twigs, leaves, and vocals and Skyler Pia on piano, guitar, synth, contact mic, and EBow, it became a trio with the addition of Morgan O’Sullivan on synth. As an ensemble (and sometimes known as the Free Water Shrew Ensemble), it has also included Addison Clark on cello; Jakelen Diaz on drums and harmonium; Nick Meigs on pedal steel; and Jakob Parsons on guitar, saxophone, whistles, and electronics.
